Crown Dance Studio
2820 Dorr Ave, Fairfax, VA 22031

DC Cherry Blossom Kizomba Festival is a one-of-a-kind event held during the cherry blossom season, next year being held March 25-29, 2026, in the greater Washington DC area. It’s a unique celebration of spring, life, music, dance, African roots, authentic connections and international unity.

More Details About the Festival

We are beyond thrilled to announce that the 2026 DC Cherry Blossom Kizomba Festival is returning to its original venue from March 25-29, 2027. We’re taking it back to where it all began in 2021 with our founder, Umka Pélé!

Get ready to experience vibrant dance energy at the newly renovated Crown Dance Studio. The venue offers an intimate atmosphere with two entertainment rooms, making it perfect for connecting with fellow festival-goers and enjoying the rhythms of Kizomba, Urbankiz, Konpa, Tarraxo, Douceur, Tarraxhina, and Afrobeats.

This fantastic studio is conveniently located just 0.5 miles from our resident hotel, Homewood Suites by Hilton, featuring complimentary breakfast, full kitchens, additional sofa beds, an indoor pool/Jacuzzi, and complimentary breakfast for up to four guests per room.

DC Cherry Blossom Kizomba Festival – Code of Conduct

At CBKF, we are deeply committed to the well-being, safety, and inclusivity of our dance community. We believe that everyone—regardless of gender, race, or religion—deserves to feel respected, supported, and free to enjoy the beauty of Kizomba in a safe and welcoming environment.

If you experience or witness any unsolicited behavior or uncomfortable situation:

If you feel safe doing so, make a clear attempt to set a boundary with the individual involved. Sometimes direct and respectful communication can resolve misunderstandings.

If the issue persists or you feel unsafe, please immediately contact any CBKF team member or reach out directly to Juste Pehoua or Kimiko Sumner.
We are here to listen and act—on the spot.

All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion. After hearing from both parties and assessing the situation, we will determine the appropriate course of action.

This may include:
Mediation between the individuals involved
A warning
Or, if necessary, escorting the individual(s)—regardless of gender—out of the event, depending on the severity of the incident

Let’s continue to build a community rooted in respect, joy, and connection—on and off the dance floor.

With love and rhythm,
The CBKF Team

See you all on the dance floor!
